No. Not all the time. Friends or not. I still get asked on occasion if it's really necessary to be "so hostile" in my posts. The short answer is "Yes, dammit! I do." But I also get a little occasional flack from fellow Conservatives. This post is for you. In the heat of the battle during the primaries we all argued against the candidates before us and promoted "our guy". Here we are about to face a huge election and the mess of candidates we got were all but Conservative. I had to be hostile and vocal about it. No one wants to plan for second or third choice before it's time. I also spoke with friends who were supporting Huckabee. I liked Huckabee at first... until I studied his record. Still liked him... just isn't conservative. I could've cared less that he was a Baptist minister. The fact that he shares my belief in God is wonderful, but, so do approximately 80% or more of my fellow Americans. What astounded me though, was when I asked people why they were supporting Huckabee and I got almost the same answer every time. It was either "He's a Christian" or "He was a minister". Alright... what else? Virtually no one I spoke with could name anything about him beyond that. People were actually supporting him based solely on his Christian credentials! Of course there were those who like the fact that he's pro-life, myself included. But for Huckabee to run as a Conservative Republican with his liberal record of tax and spend was insulting, and reduced him to nothing more than another fraud. Yeah, I get hostile. I'll continue to do so. You're welcome to disagree. You're free to be offended. My only true enemies are the anti-American libs who attempt to de-God America, chisel away at our Constitution, disrespect our military and make noise about the fact that soldiers do indeed die in war while at the same time fighting tooth and nail to make sure the murder of infants remains legal. My true enemies are those same vermin who want to usher in socialism. To the rest of you, don't take it too personal if I dis'd your guy in the primaries. We all want the best in our President, and I think that most of us agree that no matter how uninspiring the results of the primaries were, the alternative is so abominable that we'll mostly do what we need to do come November. Come what may. In the end every one of us knows this whole mess of a government and the enormous amount of power we've allowed them to have is out of control, and that the problem is coming to a head. Figuring out where that sucker will pop is the trick. Until then... RII -C
